Advertising Strategy

Our approach to Google Ads and Meta Ads, tailored for the mobile wound care industry. We need to align on targeting, messaging, and budget before launch.

Google Ads

Search, PMax, and Display

Capture high-intent searches from patients, caregivers, and referral sources actively looking for wound care services.

  • Target keywords: mobile wound care, in-home wound care, wound care near me, wound care nurse at home
  • Geographic targeting: which states, cities, or regions to prioritize at launch?
  • Budget allocation per campaign type (Search vs. Performance Max)
  • Ad copy approval: do specific claims require legal review before going live?
  • Competitor landscape: who are the main competitors in your key markets?
Meta Ads

Facebook and Instagram

Generate demand and build awareness among caregivers, family members, and healthcare professionals through targeted social campaigns.

  • Audience targeting: caregivers, elderly care, home health, diabetes communities
  • Creative assets: do you have patient testimonials, before/after images, or video content?
  • Campaign objective: lead generation (forms) vs. traffic to website vs. calls
  • Retargeting: website visitors, video viewers, and form abandoners
  • Special Ad Category: healthcare ads may have restrictions on targeting age, gender, and zip code

Key Questions for This Section

  • What is the monthly ad budget across all platforms?
  • How should budget be split between Google, Meta, and Bing?
  • Are there geographic priorities (launch in specific states first)?
  • Who is the primary audience: patients directly, or referral sources like doctors and discharge planners?
  • Are there any terms or claims we cannot use in advertising?
04

Conversions That Matter

Let us align on the exact actions we will track and optimize toward. These become the foundation for all reporting and campaign optimization.

Phone Calls

Calls from ads, website click-to-call, and call extensions. What phone number should calls route to?

Primary

Form Submissions

Contact forms, appointment requests, referral forms. "Book Appointment" is the primary CTA on the site.

Primary

Lead Quality

Not all leads are equal. How do you define a qualified lead vs. a junk lead? What makes someone a viable patient?

Secondary

Questions to Align On

  • What is the primary tracking phone number? Do you use a call tracking service (CallRail, CallTrackingMetrics)?
  • Where do form submissions currently go (email, CRM, specific software)?
  • What is an acceptable cost per lead / cost per acquisition target?
  • How is a "qualified" lead defined? (Insurance type, wound type, geographic eligibility, etc.)
  • Do referrals from physicians and discharge planners come through a separate channel?
  • Is there an existing patient intake process or CRM we should integrate with?
05

Current Systems and Build Requests

We need to understand what tools and systems are currently in place, what is working, and what needs to be built or replaced.

Systems Audit

Walk us through your current technology stack so we can identify gaps and integration opportunities.

Category Current Tool Status Action Needed
Website / CMS WordPress + Elementor (Yoast SEO) In Place Audit for landing page readiness
CRM / Lead Management ? Discuss Where do leads go after they submit a form or call?
Appointment Scheduling ? Discuss Is there an online booking system, or is intake handled manually?
Call Tracking ? Needed Set up call tracking for ads attribution and recording
Email / SMS Marketing ? Discuss Do you send follow-up emails or texts to leads?
Patient Intake Software ? Discuss EHR, patient management, insurance verification tools?
Analytics / Reporting GA4 (to be confirmed) Setup Full conversion tracking, event setup, dashboard access
Social Media Facebook Page (active) In Place Confirm Instagram presence and content strategy

Build Requests to Discuss

  • Do you need dedicated landing pages for specific services (diabetic wound care, post-surgical care, etc.)?
  • Should we build a CRM pipeline in GoHighLevel for lead tracking and automated follow-ups?
  • Do you need automated text or email follow-ups when a new lead comes in?
  • Is there a physician referral portal or process that needs to be digitized?
  • Do you need a nurse recruitment landing page separate from patient-facing marketing?
06

Compliance, Rules, and Regulations

Healthcare advertising is heavily regulated. We need to understand every constraint before launching any campaign to protect both your business and your patients.

HIPAA Compliance

Patient privacy in all marketing materials. No identifiable patient information in ads, testimonials, or case studies without written consent. Form data must be handled securely.

Healthcare Ad Restrictions

Google and Meta both have healthcare-specific ad policies. Certain claims, imagery (graphic wound photos), and targeting restrictions apply. We need to know what we can and cannot say.

State-Specific Regulations

With operations in 48+ states, are there state-specific licensing, advertising, or telehealth regulations that affect which markets we can advertise in?

Insurance and Billing Claims

Can we reference insurance acceptance (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance) in ads? Are there restrictions on how we discuss cost or coverage?

Testimonials and Reviews

Can we use patient testimonials in ads? Do they require signed consent forms? Are before/after images permissible with patient approval?

Internal Brand Guidelines

Do you have a brand style guide, approved messaging, or specific language preferences? Any terms we must always use or always avoid?

Compliance Questions

  • Do you have a compliance officer or legal team that reviews marketing materials?
  • Is there a list of "approved" and "prohibited" claims we should reference?
  • Are there FDA restrictions on how you describe your wound care therapies (grafts, biologics, NPWT)?
  • Do you need disclaimers on ads (e.g., "results may vary," "consult your physician")?
  • Are there any restrictions on advertising to specific demographics (age, condition, etc.)?
